With her painting titled Float, Rachel Bender is a finalist in Blue Koi Gallery's juried art exhibition, Wild and Tame, "where artists explore the balance between chaos and control, nature and structure, raw energy and refined technique."
Float is part of Rachel's series titled Into the Deep, which is a collection inspired by nature’s most powerful element: water. Each piece has deep, dark blues arching and flowing; a love letter to vastness of the sea. The wood canvases emphasize the separations between wood and water; solid and liquid; land and sea; control and uncertainty. Each piece grows in size, with the largest piece, 'Ocean', being 6 feet long; her towering wave against the wood 'skyline' was the perfect finale - the quintessential deadly wave.
Opening April 15, 2025, see the exhibit here: Blue Koi Gallery - Wild and Tame Exhibition.
